Yes, New Tubes Can Make All the Difference

One problem we have found with aging output tubes is that the player does not notice the slow loss of treble that happens over time. People are often surprised how much better their amps sound with new output tubes - the effect can be dramatic.

Another factor is tube bias. When replacing tubes we always recommend adjusting the bias. A small bias adjustment can make a big difference. Too much bias and the tubes will saturate too soon, giving a mushy, compressed sound. Too little can make your amp sound cold and lifeless.
